My dad has a 30+ years old 5 liter black plastic gasoline canister.
Having been driven in a car trunk a significant amount of time it expanded to 6 liter volume and stopped there, it never imploded.
It is old school heavy duty, very thick plastic, has a detachable pouring spout - all original still.

We keep straight gass in it.

All the current/modern fuel canisters are too thin and of inadequate materials, they expand, implode or leak in no time.

I got some of these vents off ebay. Have been using them for a year. Have only broke one of them. Tore the strap that holds the cap to the vent. Easy to install and they dont leak.

I use them in my no spill cans.

Working around alot of employees with various skills I purchased Wavion fuel cans that are nato approved for helicopter drops. Yellow for desiel, red for straight gas, blue for mix. K.i.s.s method of safety, I also wrote on them what was contained.
They are very expensive, but after a couple of smoked weed wackers and saws the savings are tremendous.
They will literally take anything that you can throw at them and have self venting and multiple spout options. These cans basically eliminated all fuel problems that we had on our state park.

It is so robust compared to the crappy new ones I don't see how I could bust it but there are plenty on eBay just got to know where to look

I only use the Eagle cans. I have a 1gal and 2gal for the 2 stroke stuff and a 5gal for the mower.

I also have a yellow diesel 5gal for the tractor.

Well...just maybe you could hypothetically slip while transferring mix from one combi to another and that side-load could possibly be enough to shear part of the retainer moulded in to the base of the spout so it sticks out at an angle and leaks....possibly maybe.

Well...just maybe you could hypotheytically slip while transferring mix from one combi to another and that side-load could possibly be enough to shear part of the retainer moulded in to the base of the spout so it sticks out at an angle and leaks....possibly maybe.

Possibly not I left it on the roof of the four-wheel drive one day both spouts setup to pour drove off on rocky ground and it fell off only saw it in the rear vision mirror or I would have left it behind nothing happened to it except a couple of Rock gouges in the plastic as I say they're tough as .

Well I just got lucky for a change I got these 3 cans for $35 ea .
It's a good price since the fuel and oil can together are around $80 if you can find one .

Definitely. Replacing my broken nozzle alone was $32NZD.

I have several different sizes of the old vented plastic cans some with the flex spout that pulls out and some with the yellow bent spout a couple of cans that are still metal. I fill them with non ethanol gas then put stabalizer so it lasts more than a year after mixing it up in bulk if necessary i use one gallon clear/whitish plastic jugs the round or square ones to fill saws with. two reasons one they fit in the milk crates that i put all of my saw stuff in along with the bar oil and two they are easier to use to fill a saw just dont fill them all the way up so you can tip it some before the gas comes out.

This is all OSHA will allow in a shop environment anymore and honestly they are well worth the money.

That’s what I use for storage. I keep 8 for use with a generator. Gets moved to a cheap plastic container and mixed and used.

They come in different colours to apparently the red one is for Johnsared and the yellow one as it says McCulloch.
