Mmmmmm cherry! Was a beautiful straight tree. over forty feet to the first branches. Two twenty foot sections got taken with a load to the mill Alas, what was given for them was not worth missing out on all that delicious smoking and firewood. Lesson learned, last cherry tree they get from us. If only it had been a black walnut it would have been money. Still got a nice little pile from the base that had an old hammock hook stuck in it and the top.

Took the splitter to both wood lots today and made some big progress... Got everything split at one and that's just not possible at the other.

Split a little before dinner tonight:

Then went back out and finished the job after dinner. 1.3 hours total on the tractor, which includes driving it over and positioning it, moving to a second spot, and then a couple minutes of idling after I drove to my parking spot.

cut down a silver maple that was close to my house, had to wedge her over.....I had a line tied to the tree, but I never did pull it, just used wedges...

Lol ya the "boss" was recording me in the distance, she was scared....it wasn't that bad, but it messes with ones head when it's by your own house, LOL...

Oh and in the picture she took with me, she said, "you are pitiful, you never smile like that, you really do love your chainsaw", LMAO....

lol, that's what I should have said....when they are in a woods or not around a structure, seem like a breeze, when they are right on a house, you can over-think them....

You nailed that 100% brother.....I will tell you right now I, like many of you guys ain't the "picture" taking type....the "warden" just happened to catch me right at that "I am done, everything went as expected, now I am having a beer point, LMAO"...

She busted me when she said I was pitiful in hoe much I love my saws, that's why I was cheesing so hard LOL...

I will say it's all in good fun, she is a great woman, I thought I would be alone until she came back into my life....now we have a 2-year old girl, and I do got it good now.....I used to live my life like tomorro may not come, LOL....

I am glad I burned the candle at both ends for a few years, makes a guy really appreciate every single minute he has....not rich, not poor, but damn sure happy!!!

Sounds like you got it made brother, and there's nothing wrong with that!!! Great wife, great kid, great saw and even a tree or two to cut down every once in awhile. Sounds like the American dream....
