My son and I got 9 dead standing oak wilt trees dropped and cut up today. We used my Stump Shot 572XP and my XS 572xpg. I brought some 550xps for the limbs but never needed them. All the tree tops were were junk and mostly shattered when they hit the ground. BTW the thorns were pretty nasty! Everything was blocked up to 26" for a owb.
Man how many different ported 572’s and 550’s you have? Lol…Kinda curious to see some more time on the mk2 562’s. Sounds like they’re not much bigger than mk2 550’s.

I currently have four ported 550xps mkll and four ported 572xps. I got rid of all my 562xps.

Went to town on a few big chunks today with the Red Light 066 and 32” bar. I love this thing !! Eats wood like a fat kid eats cake.

Went on a little road trip and cut up a few scraggly chunks on the pile by Dads place. Almost 30 cord sitting here cut up waiting to be burnt. Doesn’t look like much from this angle but that pile is 160’ long and 12’ wide 🤪

Working on a couple of leaners, Co-leaning oaks. One down, other will come down after I clean up the first tangled mess. 20240314_173249.jpg20240314_173258.jpg20240314_173520.jpgwhat i pulled out so far.20240314_173254.jpg

It is handier than a pocket on a shirt. It is a power-trac PT-425.

Power-trac.com

They have bigger ones, this is the smallest frame, and will only lift 800#.

Usual disclaimer, I don't work for them, I just own one.

A Power Trac !! Sweet stuff !! I thought it had to be a little payloader style machine judging in the loader construction but I figured it’d be a little ditch witch or something. Those Power Tracs are sweet rigs !!
It has its flaws, but I can work around them. Wish I had it when I put up am half mile of fence.

For its size I bet it’s handy as all get out. Too large of a machine and you run into floatation or ground disturbance issues.

Does it do decent with the backhoe ? I ran one on a skid steer for a bit and wanted to pull my hair out.

The machine weighs 1400# and can easily lift itself off the ground. I got it stuck getting the largest rounds out. Had to steer full lock left, down pressure lift the front, turn to full lock right until I crabbed myself uphill enough to get off the 4" tree that I slid around. No real ground disturbance, the wheel follow each other, and the front and rear wheel motors are in series, so spinning one wheel is almost impossible. I will see if I can find the path I made by taking 20-30 trips carrying rounds out.20240314_173327.jpg20240314_173328.jpg

That thing is titties. Down pressure? I could use that to drills about 50 post holes…18” , 4ft deep in rocky ground.
Not sure it would do 18" diameter very fast, the 12" auger does a great job. I wish I had it when I did my fence.
