Ya we get some big ones sound here but most are smaller. Here's a pic they posted before the take downs.There are no Black Locust that large around these parts. Lots of splits there. Maybe 10”- 12” is the largest diameter that I have seen.
True, but you don't have to get it out of the woods, and it's free. Wouldn't be very good for selling, though.Once again, and as shown above by PA Dan, tree service companies never seem to cut two logs the same length, many are cut too short and at an oddball angle. However, it's usually "free" so I guess we shouldn't complain. The local tree service I sometimes work with here has a drop lot packed with rounds cut so short that I call them chariot wheels.
