I can tell you that the Lemon candies were very nice and went down well while i put the Ps 420 together....none in the ps 5105 box though ...guess il have to have a ps 6100 and see if there in the box
My Dolmar 099 loops claim Made in Canada as well!I think your right
Hard to even find a Dolmar dealer up here , there were scarce but becoming even scarcer after the Makita take over .
There is one somewhat local dealer that I called last week and he's bailing out , says Makita has really made a mess of things for dealers and he's flat out pissed off since he had sold Dolmar for many years and moved a lot of product .
I would have considered getting a 6100 but I think I'll wait and see .
Corey....further to your question. I was noodling with the new 5105 today and noticed it was flicking up to around the 14500..15000 ( not clear as the rev limiter causes odd readings to) mark after checking during 15 mins of hard run time. The saw a few mins later started to run dry so i killed it as i dont let them run on a sucking fuel line. Refueled and the saw was 13800..14100 so just a tiny tweak on the dd H jet and we are back to 13800 max . I figure the bit about the lift in rpm over the rev limiter on a near empty tank may be of some interest to you . Dunno ...were you close to empty and on a hot saw? You get this on non RPM limited coil saws but i suspect it was unexpected so much on the limited Dollys . I am not surprise i needed to re tune in the brake in so i had two things going on with my symptoms.Haso anyone experienced their dolmar jumping the rev limiter? Both my 6100 and 421 have. The 6100 twice and the tach read over 15,000 and screaming lean. And the 421 once but did not have the tach on it. Both seem like it goes extremely lean and screaming right past the limiter.
Thoughts? @Miller Mod Saws @fordf150 anyone?
You would have thought the limiter would catch it ?? Still... to be happening to more than 1 of us is less of a bother i suppose .I have noticed the 420 leaning out at the end of a tankful.

No..Iv not had that situation !The instances I speak of, it was not a flutter or low on fuel. I had to let off the throttle it was picking up rpm at an alarming rate. Like right before a motor blowes. It is like it jumped the rev limiter and was picking up rpm it was leaning it self out at the same time.
Never seen anything like it.
The one I have here says 496. It's 3/8" 050 chain. What number is stamped into the drive link?
I could be wrong, but just yesterday I was looking up Dolmar 484 loop specs and came up with this:
- Dolmar 099 = Oregon 73LP (3/8")
- Dolmar 484 = Oregon 95VPX (.325")
- Dolmar 084 = Oregon 21LP (.325")
Again, the above information could be wrong and if so it is not intentional!
Dolmar chains and bars are all Oregon to my knowledge and I don't mind at all - they are great quality.
Not much those two can't do. Great setup!Have been seduced by yet another rump !....I had to really
