Nothing too cool, just a little side job...got to try out version 2 of my 500i/660 hybrid saw. Version 1 was just proof that the concept would work, yet wasn't a huge improvement over stock, version 2 pulls really well on the stump...I'm pumped on the results.

That's why I like the Cummins w/ 6 speed manual in my Dodge. Some of the newer V8 trucks have wider powerbands, but it pulls well without me having to shift much. It isn't stock, but I didn't go crazy with the power, as you can only shift a 6 speed truck transmission so fast...also didn't want to have to upgrade a bunch of stuff chasing reliability. Some "stuff" from the exhaust may have "fallen off," and it's tuned...only thing I had to do was upgrade the flywheel and clutch...it's been rock solid ever since.
Yeah that's a nice setup for sure. My 2002 f350 has a 6 speed.

Truth. Easy to do:) sure been a cold winter here. Sounds like thick snow. 440 is a fantastic saw!
Glad I went back out and cut up all the logs I had...we are getting slammed with snow. We have about 8" wet snow right now. Snow is hard to predict but I pushed just in case. Glad I did! It is still snowing.tmp-cam-8003241674627493346.jpg

Buddy who owns a tree service company back east, took an Alaskan vacation. Poor guy needed it, his various stories of anal customers crying about a fkn tree limb touching their stoopid lawns, youch!

One run with a small team of logging dogs, his grumbling faded away. Hopefully next time he visits, Ill train him up for larger teams. We'll throw the milling saws in the sleds, and haul slabs of milled wood with 6-8 dog teams.

His former ground guy came up too, he's in the sled basket:

I tried to kill a few sycamore's today and they resprout like they been coppiced, but hopefully the sheep will nibble the new growth this time , they were put on the hill in the last 2 or 3yrs to help keep it more in keeping as to how it was done many yrs ago.
