@Czed you’ve pushed me over the edge. I’m puttin the full wrap on the 266 and killin some dead trees with it…soon as I don’t feel wrung out. I just saw an old BBR of him droppin a decent pine with 28 or 32” hangin off a 266. Last time I ran mine it seemed they weren’t as fast as my newer ported saws, but they were awful hard to stall doggin’. Just what I want in a falling saw.
Chuck the original owner of father and son team, saw shop. Cloverdale saw and mower. My exclusive shop. Told me once if I remember, that the 266 was one of the best saws ever built, but I'm pretty sure he added, that they produced and sold so many models, that Husqvarna wore out their castings. I think he said they came to a point make new castings or make another size and or model. The 266 is a great old model. And even good today Imo

Guy on Reddit says his axes are 400.00 now
The most I ever paid for a saw was 389.00 for a nos 2166
And the saw will cut a lot faster than the axe!

yeah, I started off trying to keep it cheap, as much tree work as I actually do I really only need a range of sizes of old 2 and 3 series…but then CAD. Winning the ported 6100 is kinda where it started. I will say I’ve managed to get pretty good deals on the saws I do have though, thanks to the fine fellers on this forum or me fixin em up from junk.

I've had my trusty fiskers axe f or 15 years. It's was 69.99 I think. But it's my favorite. Light easy to pack. Nearly indestructible

I have a splitting fiskars. Maybe you have a forestry or logging version and they are designed to hit on the poll…or maybe it’s just a rare thing.

Yeah not sure, never heard of it. But I'm sure many people have different experiences. I forget what mines called.

I pound plastic felling wedges with my Fiskars X-27 all the time, just don't use it on the metal splitting wedges.

I've used the Fiskars for years w/o breaking a handle, and I have broken LOTS of maul handles.

I like these L wrenches for my full wraps
They don't stab you when you slip them in your pocket.
