That should go quick.I picked this saw up several years ago, not sure what happened but it had very low hours and even lower compression...piston was toast.
I bought a new piston, cylinder, seals, manifold, etc. from Traverse Creek (AKA The Duke) and finally got is all put back together.

The original cylinder was not bad, but since I'd already purchased the new one I used it when putting this one back together.

I already have a 2511T worked over by MWEBA so this one will be on the "For Sale" rack for now anyway.

You have an unnervingly orderly way of taking a saw apart and making it look new again. Awesome work!I picked this saw up several years ago, not sure what happened but it had very low hours and even lower compression...piston was toast.

Great info. The antiquated 8000 filter setup has been an Achille's heel of the saws.An echo cs 680/670 filter fits the cs 8000. The HDA 45 carb is larger, so will have to open up the filter base where it attaches to the carb. The filter cover sets about 1 inch higher. Shouldn't be too hard to fabricate an extension.
