Finally got around to finishing my iron sleeve "big bore" jug...

Wasn't sized right the first time couldn't make it 3 cuts before locking up. Took a bunch of measurements and hone'ed it to size.

Currently has tractor like port timing.
107ex
132tr
78in
And around 200psi comp.

Ran 1 full tank cut after cut with a stock muffler. Think it gonna work this time
..

Run some .404 on it and it might load up right.

Not sure where to go with it.

If I port it for this chassis it won't be useable for the hybrid.

The hybrid is running so well as is, but 6 more cc sounds fun...
Guess you'll need to build another cylinder in your spare time :p.

I’d like to see the stroked 670 tuned up around where the Hybrid is for comparison 1st.

That Hybrid isn’t a slouch as is.

Very nice Joe.

You’re work is outstanding.

Thank you sir.

It was listed, but never sold.

The hybrid is 37.6mm stroke × 50mm bore. 73.6cc Same cylinder,carb etc.

This big bore is 34mm stroke ×52mm bore 72.2 cc

If I port this big bore cylinder for the 670 chassis it will be useless for the hybrid.

On the other hand the big bore would bring the hybrid to 79.8cc and allow better port timing...

Wick it up as is & get a fair comparison between the 2.

More stroke is always preferred.

@Red97 , realize this is a few years old, did you come up with a viable big bore/or hybrid project? And would it work on the cs590?

The ms440/460 swap is the easiest. But still takes a good bit of work.
Have you considered getting an outfit
Cast cylinders to your specs?
You'd make bank on them
That series is everywhere now
And it is a 70cc platform of course.

I was just thinking that with all the aftermarket stuff out there it wouldn’t be that hard to cast a 440/460 p/c that would mount right up. There’s probably more than a few 590s sitting with scored pistons waiting for an affordable rebuild. 170 bucks for an oem kit is kind of crazy for a 400 dollar saw.
