In case it's not known, that tube in the muffler is welded at the bottom and the top. It's not a matter of cutting around the tube at the top, and just sliding the tube out. At the bottom, the tube is welded to a baffle plate. That plate has holes in it that let the exhaust pass through, into another chamber, then out the tube.

Red,

I'd personally raise the exhaust side transfers to 125 and the intake side to 126 with the intake of 80 and exhaust of 105.

You're gonna open the muffler. You're filling a larger/taller cylinder with charge and you have 4 ports.

The 19-20* on the 620 tells me that the muffler is restricted and the cylinder needs more time to fill.

You can always leave the transfers at 135 to start. You can always raise them but you can't lower again.

Cut the ex side uppers with a squarer entry than the mains.

So with a 125 tranny , you'd be at (in duration):
Int 160
Ex 150
Tr 110

Now that I see it more clearly, I bet your saw could handle an exhaust of 102 and sill make aLot of torque.

Just cut down the front deflector to open it up.

Just drilled a hole next to the existing hole, and still under the spark screen since all my cutting is done in the national forest.

Anyone have stock 600p #s?

I really want to say the 590 and 600 share the same cylinder part # but not 100%

Sorry for the delay with this thread, still waiting on case gaskets.

Should be there by the time I get back home late next week.
