Have you tried it?
If not no need to call out someone who has. We are all about trying new things and experimenting here at OPE. And we are learning a lot!
The coils have a different timing curve as well as being unlimited and so they very well could be a performance enhancer, also could dampen it. Don't know til we try.
Join us in our quest for knowledge, grow with us.

Giving opinions doesn't mean I'm calling someone out...they are just my opinions. I thought OPE was a place we could have grown up conversations without walking on egg shells...worrying about overly sensitive members like Jake.

I'm here to gain knowledge just like the next guy. But running a stock 600p (limited), a ported 600p (limited), and a stock 620p (unlimited) has given me the impression the unlimited coil doesn't make that much difference in the cut. Again, just my opinion after running both.

Installing the 620 (unlimited coil) in a 590/600 does nothing for real world cutting performance. It may help in tuning the saw but it does nothing to make the saw "run better". My MM'd and tuned cs-600p runs real close to my stock cs-620p.
This is stated as fact. Did you try it? You may be right. I don't know. But it is not stated as your opinion.

It's a very impressive saw especially for a homeowner saw. I can't wait to run it at the gtg Al!

Not sure how much more we can ask of it.

I sure would love to see it spinning around 14k... Just for the limbing aspect. Or 8x8 gtg play.

My ported 7900 is my only saw with a limited coil. It's a pain in the ass not being able to hear whether its 4 stroking or banging off the coil at wfo. Gain or no gain, there's no piece of mind in not knowing.

Sure do wish the site sponsor would get busy with those 7900 unlimited coils!

yes the saw is still being used my dad owns it now it improved throttle response when it was changed i bought the saw used in january 2015 and and after a week of use the coil gave up a ghost i installed the 620pw coil i got used and the throttle response and revving characteristics was better than the old coil before it failed.
---> as stated my opinion <---

i think randy mentioned they leave a lot on the table when it comes to there porting. my 590 ran much better after installing the 620 coil and carb. i did a mild muffler mod to mine because they are very loud gutted completely along with a modded deflector.
it took about 8 tanks for mine to respond well.

The porting traditionally has been a very weak point with the Echo saws, but they have come up with a couple of more decent ones lately (620SX and 501SX)
I assume Shindaiwa deserves the thanks for that, but can of course not prove it....

I ran this saw today, needless to say I was extremely impressed.

I wish I had my ported 346 at my place today to run them side by side. I am pretty sure that this saw would be neck and neck with my 346

These Echo's are capable of running with any other saws. Good thing we give them a chance instead of believing all the negatives from the Stihl and Husky crowd. They are quality built, simple, reasonably priced, reliable machines.

I'm trying to fit a 16" Hoosky bar on mine right now. The only small bar I have is a Sugi, so I don't want to do any irreparable grinding.

I'll have this saw at the CT GTG. Planning on having a 14" 3/8lp bar, and both 16/20" .325 bars for it.

I have 2 new Stihl RS chains in .326/16".

This saw will be run next to my latest ported Stihl 026. Maybe both will get Dyno time.

I bleed Orange and White, I'm Stihl through and through.

I have a feeling this lil saw is gonna ruffle some feathers.

Glad we could meet up, it was nice to get an unbiased opinion on the saw.

Hopefully I can make it to the gtg or meet up on a weekend when we have more time.

Think when people actually run your saw it will be a real eye opener. Expecially when they can pick one up at home depot, instead of scouring the webs for a mint 026/346 :)
