I was interested until I looked at the video to see how well it was put together,
sadly, the plastic joint / welds leaked oil, doesn't instill much confidence really,
and not an easy fix or one that should ever need doing.
Quality still not there, and they have had long enough now to learn.
I guess they still have that "its for export mentality".

Once again plenty of reasons to go OEM.

Looking on the Echo website, these saws should have an aluminium front handle,
the one below is being sold locally, but it seems to have a plastic handle and is marked
as a 2020 Model.
Anyone know if Echochanged to a plastic handle at some point.

I have a 490 with a plastic handle.
Yes, I just find it odd that the echo website shows an aluminium handle, and then I
see the plastic handles on the saws.

Echo seems to have glitches like that in their advertising. I think the national distribution guys have a lot of autonomy. They don’t always do what HQ had in mind. In the US they still can’t get straight whether they offer 1/4” setups for their small saws.

The plastic handles aren’t all bad. They’re lighter and not quite as cold. The Aluminum handles are definitely more durable, but especially with cheap clone replacements banging about, it’s a wash.

I have a small CS352 with plastic handle, its more comfortable than the 501 's I had,
they had a buzz that annoyed me, though I like all the rest of the saw, no buzz from the 352,
that is why I ommited the newer 3510 from my search, I only needed something so I could
stop the 50cc saw when I got to the twigs, happy with it, and a lot cheaper than the CS3510 too.

Am still waiting to see if the Makita saws turn up in some other manufacturers colors, that would
be a joy, liked them a lot.

That Echo 420 was only listed half a day and it sold, good saws rarely come up here,
only things with a life of misery under their belt, and them tarted up with some plastics
where possible.
