Yes the usps isn’t what it used to be, I do understand to a point when they gut the postal service to 1/2 the people it was and a lot of small rural offices were shut down and added in with others plus using contractors to deliver a lot of the mail and it’s all combined into what we have. Not saying it’s right and I hope they could eventually get back to the old ways but unfortunately not holding my breath. When I was a kid the mail was at my house within a 15-20 minute window every day and we had the same mailman for 30 plus years. Now I get a new contractor every 6-8 months and my mail can show anywhere between 12 and 6.

Where was that tree located in proximity to a home or former home?

Looks like a blow down/storm damage tree. Some times you just need to clean things up. That dirty ass tree would be hard on any saw/chain. Less you are felling with a D8 or big excavator. Just sayin'

View attachment 460922BTW that is a friend of mine using my 56" bar with Dukes full skip chain on a 592xp. The chain held up great in this 250yr old cherry bark oak.
I have a couple or three 36" loops I spun that have held up well. Honestly, I was a bit concerned running long to me loops of CN chain. Your post of a 56" loop makes me feel a bit easier. Maybe I don't need to keep a tourniquet on hand bucking-up/noodling big pieces with this chain. "smiley face emoji thing" 😲 Kudos to @Maintenance Chief

Querious? What axe or long handled wedge banger is your friend using in this pic? Front right laying on the trunk. Looks to be a nice long straight handle. Older Ox Head or Fiskars maybe?

This was at Radcliffe plantation, a state park in South Carolina . Helene knocked it down , along with about 35 De'ador cedars.
It was there at the time of the slaves ,so considered a "Legacy Tree" . We cut 2 cookies for them , but honestly I don't know what they're gonna do with them?

I was worried it was a yard tree. They belong in ravines.
