Ok what was suppose to be a MINT 6000i. I paid top dollar $371.50 and it included a decent 6800 cylinder that I am going to put a OEM 6800 piston in it that I have. I never fired the saw but instantly took the cylinder off to start my project . First off I made a mistake by not asking for muffler removed picture or bottom of the saw picture. The way everyone was responding to the saw for sale it “seemed” like a mint saw.
Ok I took the cylinder off and found this piston .
The rings still have factory spec on ring end gap . The only thing wrong with the cylinder was the same beatings in the top. The walls and ports are fine . I was going to sell the cylinder and mint piston to recoup some money on my project . I might be able to get a few dollars from the cylinder after disclosing what happened to it.
I told everything to the seller and enclosed pictures and his main question was “ did he hide anything with his pictures”?
I know how I would have handled the deal and it would have been much different because no way is the saw worth that price with that piston. The saw would have not lasted a season if that .
Ok my question to the crowd “ what do you think could have caused the indentations?
My answers are .. small piece of wire that looked to be beaten in the top??? Did someone try and take a squish measurement with hard wire?
I took the muffler apart and found nothing in the screen. No score marks in the walls or ports.
I put the top end 6800 together and ran the saw for 2-3 minutes and took the muffler off to inspect ... no metal no scoring.
Thanks for opinions . Bill
