Well I talked to a technical rep in VB and he said that they keep records starting in the mid 90's. Probably to late to make any sense of this mess. He talked to an employee who worked there for 40 years and he said he didn't think any 034 Supers were made in VB. Again, not a negative, as there might have been a short run of them there. 30 years is a long time to remember. I think if some serial number of an 034 S is registered, then we can see if it was an original or a rebadged 034. I aint done with this thing yet......

The serial numbers are too close to make it a coincidence. I say Stihl timeline, put out by Stihl, is correct. They might not have made too many of them but I think they made some. Randy, if he remembers, is supposed to run the serial numbers past his dealer. All we need is one verification to dispell the vicious rumor and give the US 034 Super its due...

I say "yes", there were some 034 S made in Virginia Beach in the early '90's. Too many 034S showing up with Virginia Beach recoils that all have the same serial numbers. Was talking with a guy last week who states he has an all original 034 Super he bought from Shirks that has the V.B. Recoil. So, still trying to get Stihl to verify it but it looks like some were made there. It was the end of production evidently leading to the false assumption that they were made in Germany only. I can now run my saw with pride, knowing thats its got all its original parts. Life is good!!!

There has got to be one that is registered, if their registry goes back that far. If you would Jon, that would be appreciated. Got another 0ne if you need that serial number too. Its just too coincidental that the serial numbers are that close together and that someone went through the bother of updating the p&c and also the engine cover. I could see if the serial numbers were all over the place. If you could, ask your dealer who you would talk to at Stihl that is a historian, if one exists.

@Jon1212 , if you could run this one by him, #223771845. My other one is #223772193. Bought from NJ and GA, miles apart. Too much similarities in serial numbers to be coincidence. VB 034 Supers, oh yeah!!!!
