Do three-saw plans still exist on here?

I try and cover the bases, have 1x40cc, 3x50cc, 3x60cc, 2x70cc and 1x 80cc, but to be honest I don't use mine enough, but I sure do like knowing they are there, and they look pretty on the shelf never know what will catch my eye next, I just go with the flow, I was all about a 461 this week then I got a great deal on a minty 288, plans change.

Always those 3 ride with me. About every trip a 4th or 5th may tag along for test cuts.

The 3 I use most are 45/60/80cc.

Echo cs-4600/590/8000.

My dad bought the 4600 new 20 or so years ago, and for the money I don't think you can beat a 590, especially if you're only cutting up a few trees a year. I got the 8000 so I could have a "big" saw that swaps bars with the 590. It was where I needed to be on price point.

I mill a little with the 8000, but if I do much more I think I'll want a 390/394/395xp.

Right now, I'm on a 2 saw plan for firewood:

I've been rebuilding some other 50cc class saws, so they get to take a ride out to make a load of firewood, for testing and tuning purposes (anyone want a cosmetically rough, but functionally brand new MS261?).

My plan is to flip a couple of the 50cc builders I have, and turn them into some cash towards a good used 70cc saw (a good used Jred 2172 or Dolmar/Makita 6400 are getting my favor right now). In addition, I have an MS192TC that needs some bits to turn into a runner.

That would put me on a 4 saw plan:

30
50
70 (72 or convert the 6400 to 79)
88

For a 8-10 cord a year personal use firewood hack and hunting stand/trail maintenance, I don't think I could get a better setup.

Do you mean when you go to cut firewood you grab 3 saws of the shelf of the 30 saws you own that you wanna use that day? If so, yes then I have a 3 saw plan.
If I could cut wood today (its pouring and windy outside) it would look like this.

. She holds her own though! For bucking over 20" with the power to weight ratio its comfortable to use and pretty quick. One of my favorites

My plan ranges from 3-5 saws. I run them for a while then want to try something new so I sell and replace. My new plan will be 50-70-70-85 but who knows how long that will actually last.

I have more than 3 (confessions of the addict right) but the others don't get used much. One's my dads old 50, and the other is paps old Pioneer.



All of my 5-7 cords per season get cut with the 3 saw plan.


I've even passed the theory down to @Hot Husky 365, who now has his own 3. Let's see um Andrew.

I've got lots of saws but generally take 2 to the woods.
1) 50cc with an 18" bar
2) 80cc+ ported with 20",24" and 32" bars.

Before CAD sat in I used to cut with a one saw plan 60-70cc with a 20" bar.

Almost always 3...

394 is for noodling the base so I don't kill my back. I cut tons of apple wood. Usually 7 trees per trip. Last orchard we stopped at 54 + I milled a bunch.

Im doin a job now with a 90cc saw , 60cc saw and a top-handle..its all i need.
