McCulloch had electric star saws back in the 70's. Look up a 3-10ESnowblowers have electric start on them to help those that cannot pull the rope over several times on cold days.
We should come up with electric start for chainsaws and do away with decomps all together.
I'm sure many people are still capable of handling a large cc saw but it's hard on the shoulders to pull over the beast within.....
I run the genuine husky blue ones in the higher comp saws ,they are spendy at my dealer though ,like 25-30 bucks i think ,i do not think the aftermarket blue ones are the same ones though .If you are goin to use a decomp then use the husky decomps, I hear they last longer in higher comp saws
The 066 is easier.My 066 is 230. I don't have a problem without one, regardless of finding tdc. But if it were maybe 250 psi that might be a different story.
@jmssaws : which is easier at 230 lbs; 394/5 or 066?
I'm gonna shoot for 200 on the 394. Wide powerband. Keep the exhaust low so it'll lug a 36" bar milling. The 66 would probably work fine, but it's maybe a bit too sporty for milling.The 066 is easier.
On a cold morning my 94 is very hard to start.
I was thinking it was a waste of a good Husky part!Well that's just blasphemy...putting a "husky" part on a "real" saw.....crazy talk.
AGREEDecomps make me feel so much younger. !!!!
I pretty much ripped them all out untill I got old.....now I dug them all out of the garbage and put them back on...
Stay young guys.
