What is the best way to mark up a cylinder for porting? Once all the measurements on the stock jug are made and the new measurements determined, I'd like to know how to draw precise lines inside the (sometimes rather small) cylinder bore. I tried with a Sharpie, but couldn't get clean enough lines. Id love to have a pen that, like my porting tool, has a right angle at the end, but I don't think they exist...

Cool! I'll have to try that out...Never thought about a chart recorder pen even though we have them all over the place at work.

I use a mechanical pencil. The ring makes the top and bottom of the ports and I hold the pencil with two fingers and push it against the side of the cylinder for the sides. Remember that you are marking inside a cylinder and it is real easy to make a straight line along a cylinder because it acts like a trough. Don't wipe the chips away with your finger or the marks will go too. Use a small brush.
