Im curious as to how y'all cut squish band. If dome piston do you try to match the cylinder to the piston? Working on building a squish band cutter and trying to decide on using tool steel or a carbide insert, or custom make an insert

I cut mines on a tablesaw ...with a belt sander attachment....been doin it that way since before y'all were suckin yer mamma for milk monies.

Now for domed pistons do you try to match the dome to what you're cutting or do you just do a flat cut?
