I guess that's what happens when you start off with a pile of random parts
What we are looking at here is a short case small crank 066 pto case half. Now its this side thats hard to tell the difference between it and a big bearing short caseYeah I think I'm at a loss with this case. Just split it and found the case half gasket not sealing either. Warped case? Were the screwdriver tip is the gasket is loose with the cases tight togetherView attachment 158503

So the 066 has a small crank metal flywheel case, a short case big crank poly flywheel case, a long case big crank poly flywheel case and then became the ms660? Do you know the serial number breakdowns. Is there an easy way or obvious way to tell what case you have? Guessing from the original posters finding none are compatible?
Flywheel side is same as early 066, PTO side is different
The piston is just as important as the jug.Finding that pristine jug was like finding a circlip that snapped off while installing it! This jug was the one i been searching for over 2 years now.
Cant wait to check the squish and see if i can do a gasket delete, i doubt it though. Most stihls i try to drop out the base gasket out of end up with piston kissing the squish band.
