Crank turns freely when bolted together so not an issue with line bore

Waiting on an answer from someone. My first person I would say would be Rick Hennesee but I have no idea how to get ahold of him.

First off it’s way more than a five minute job to get the case clamped down solid and 0 run out.

Secondly, I’d want the crank and bearings out.

These are just my opinions

5 minutes was an exaggeration but not hours to setup either.

Send a pm to Mattyo
He milled my cases, he can do it with the crank in.

The best way to do it is to use a rod on v-block with proper made bushings in the bearing bores. That way the gasket surface is true with the crank.

Doing it the way Matt does it you're compounding errors and putting a lot of trust in the original machine work. Which we can see, isn't the best.

Yeah I think I'm at a loss with this case. Just split it and found the case half gasket not sealing either. Warped case? Were the screwdriver tip is the gasket is loose with the cases tight together20190108_090315.jpg

A light sanding on a granite block or pane of thick glass will fix that.
