i have husqvarna 181 that i would like to convert over to a husky 288. is there a recommended piston and cylinder size? Thanks:) i want to use it for milling boards

288 is direct swap I thought. I dont think you would notice much power increase over a 181.

Keep the 181 and refresh it.

Yeah, I'm with these guys. For ~7cc, it won't be a very big difference in power. New bearings and seals, new carb kit, and new rings, you should be good to go.

thks guys..it is an old saw thats not running so i need to rebuild anyway just thought 288 might be better for the rebuild.. i am new to this stuff
