There was an old thread I read a long time ago on AS. They were talking about porting the ms250 and said that the port timing was pretty good it just needed lots more air in and out. Widen and blend everything, muffler mod, and bigger carb if you can find something that works.

I started tearing the echo apart.
First snag was getting the xlutch off.

This tools not pretty but it worked.

The exhaust is 105
Intake is 73.

Now heres my stupid question. When measuering the intake it when the piston skirt clears the bottom of the intake port?
If so i measured it propper.

I like this clamy design better then the ms 250 i just had apart to put seals in. Its got its own bolt to hold the motor togeather. The ms 250 bolts have to go in after the motors in the saw. so you have to hold all togeather till you get it in.

I know you're not all hung up on this, but if you bond the clam with silicone gasket maker and let it cure a bit before torquing down, it'll hold together while placing the assembly in the case.

I just picked up a Husqvarna 350 and was wondering about waking it up and the pay off being a clamshell. After talking with another member and reading this thread I'll be going at it soon. Talk about perfect timing. Thanks for asking the question MercMan!

350's are fantastic running saws! I have one with just a muff mod and 105 psi that hangs with some ported 350/346 hybrids...

Or just measure side to side. No curve factered in. I think its the side to side no curve?

I curved some thin carsboard and put in cylinder and it just seemed too wide.

Then i measured markings on piston of the cylinder shape i traced and seemed propper.(to me anyhow).

Have you watched that video? And I ended up just going for a good shape over maximum size to worried about catching a ring.

Now how do you guys get your wider port measurement into the cylinder. I see some use tape and others use thin marker.
Do you measure on a peace of thin cardboard. Cut and place in then draw lines or tape it up.

Next question. Iv never messed with intake. How do you determine how wide you can go. Or do you just leasve it and clean the port up.
