Christmas dinner...whatcha cookin?

Gettin ready to throw a prime rib on the Traeger to let it smoke a good portion of the night. I’ll be bringing it over to the in-laws to go with their turkey.

Go easy on it. 4 hours at 200° will be med rare.

Waiting on pics of the prime rib. We are doing breakfast actually. A lot of stuff going on here. Wife just got out of the hospital, my oldest son's father in law is in hospice about to die. We are fortunate if we can all get together today. But I am very thankful to have my wife and those around me. I usually cook a load of stuff. Just not going to be able to this year.

Getting ready to put candied bacon in the oven. My wife is making an Orange ball coffee cake.
Later today, I'm going to cook a couple pounds of 9-12 count shrimp. Some Cajun on the grill, some butterflied and fried. Twice baked Potatos, slaw and Strawberry Cheesecake to round things out.

The flu is pretty popular with our grandkids at the moment, so we told everyone to stay home. We'll all get together after the plague has passed.

Later today, I'm going to cook a couple pounds of 9-12 count shrimp. Some Cajun on the grill, some butterflied and fried. Twice baked Potatos, slaw and Strawberry Cheesecake to round things out.

Ex did a 9lb prime rib and lamb chops yesterday, and she and the kids went and had dinner with some of her work gal friends yesterday evening. Must not 've been many males or meat-eaters at that little shindig...the kids swung by here afterwards with about half the prime rib and several lamb chops, both cooked to perfection, and a ton of sides and some desserts. Damn sure wasn't gonna turn it down. Was all excellent and still a good bit left to warm up and add to what they're bringing today.

Good for you. Sure do enjoy the cooking posts though. Not able to do it in these days. Our breakfast did not require a grill or smoker.
