Then my man...quit playing the 'justification game' with this turd. You talk out both sides of your mouth or out your mouth and ass at the same time. It's ok for someone to tear down your work because it might be an 'improvement factor' for you and your abilities and future work because as you stated, 'you aint the best.' ...well guess what Chief, neither is this idiot in Mo either.'...but no one can tear down someone elses' chit and try to get them on the right track, or at least make them accountable for absolutely mis-represented work. WTF!!

It's callin a SPADE, A SPADE!!

You do bring up a good point. Humility. Quite honestly, I doubt we will get that from Jason here. it is time for him to eat a pile of crow and make good. But I dunno if that's even possible now.

And he is being held accountable. This thread is proof of that. But keep in mind, I still need to get my stuff back lol

Man I need coffee.

Ah, you bring up another good point. Those people spending what they can't afford on ... well... ported saws. People want to be able to spend willy nilly and not be beholden to buyer beware. Thats called having your cake and eating it too.

Actually, because I have so many saws with Jason still, if I don't get my stuff back I don't know what recourse i will have except to take it to arboristsite. It is likely his reputation will be finished there too in that case. I am uniquely positioned ...having so much with him and having a couple subs on youtube and plenty of people that follow me on AS that I have enough of a rep ( i think) that he will be out of business on the boards if I don't get my stuff.

That said, I hope his motivational factor to get me my stuff is pride in his work. This thread doesn't give me much hope of that.

Also, if I lose it all, financially its not THAT much of a hardship. Its annoying for sure.
there you are wrong yet again if the guy pays his money for a ported saw then its the same as you buying a bmw or what kind of fancy *f-wording car you think you have to have it came from his work and his hard earned money
thinking down on people because of the money they make or the job they do piss me off the most and i will get not so friendly

you are losing your reputation here but talking out your ass and i doubt jason will be on ass site much longer
so if you want to start putting people down for the money they make or job they do i will become your worst nightmare
i grew up poor and i have worked since i was 8 years old

Not trying to defend the builder here, but how would the pitted crank make the saw run poorly? I can't say it's correct to use in a saw that's NOS, but what is the worry with it? Is it that the large end bearing could have pitting as well?

The big end, and wrist pin bearings are both rusty.

Notice the rust trail on the bench.....

Tough to get a great picture of the rod bearing, but it is rusty and pitted too.

I'm sorry Dallas, you are gonna have to be more clear how I am putting people down for the money they make? I'm just saying don't be irresponsible with money.

I drive a subaru impreza btw.

And I'm saying is certainly more risky to buy a ported saw than a stock one.

no?

Flux core mig, my bet.

IDK, the inside the muffler mods... Not sure if leaving a baffle jagged, a bad weld, or a bunch of nuts on a bolt would make a saw run any less. As long as it held together. But it is the kinda stuff one needs to take care of, cause it's an area that would bring ones attention to the builder's general attention to detail.

Rusty crank Doc, rust in the pores of the metal (very hard to get it out once it starts) the rust works loose with the mix and centrifugal force and scores the piston/plating.

This whole post is horsechit. You're saying it's the buyers fault for not....what? Stripping the saw down to the bare cases before he bought it?

Doesn't matter if he rebuilt the bottom end or used a *s-wordty one, he blatantly lied about and misrepresented the saw. But apparently he shouldn't be responsible.

I love posts like that...it makes it easier to make my list.

I am sorry for you Heath. You are welcome here for coffee anytime. Just ground up some nice fresh Costa Rica and filled out travel mugs for the trip to work...

Bless You.

Yeah,
There is a reason why they sell so much flavored Chit: the coffee taste like ASS by itself.

I guess that would depend on who you bought it from.

Id buy a ported one from randy light years before id buy a stock one from some of the slackers on these forums.

So, no its not always more risky.
