Chainsaw powered go-cart

Hi Folks

I have been thinking about taking on a bit of a fun project and building a dodgy home made 2 stroke off road go cart using a chainsaw engine.

Anyone built one, have one, have any advice?

Haha, yeah, I will just pick up one of those SP125's between the milk and bread at the shops.

I have been considering a Chinese 090 motor

Hell, its all just a thought at this stage.
Just something fun to take out to my parents property that will haul the kids or adults around at a fun speed without being silly.

Yep...couple of my older brothers had them back in the early 70's.

Damn that *s-word's cool!! Was this before they started using kart engines for saws as opposed to the other way round?

twin lawn boy duraforce 6.5 hp engines set up with tillotson HL239b carbs go to 1:21 to see them running and he drives it.

and the doodle bug and it sounds goooood!

FWIW I've known two national go kart champions .The first was Kenny Burden of Waynsfield Ohio who was national number one for a few years running 3 Mac 10's in the 60's .Kenny past last year .

Louie Boughan who I went to apprentice school with was in the early 70's running a single Mac 101.He is credited with building the first "slide pipe" .He BTW is looking for a decent 101 for me .
