Yikes. Scary Jim. Not much there. Lol
But I bet it's fast
Oregon 73/72 LGX will endure extremely worn down teeth.
Considering the loops integrity, I have yet to snap a 3/8" chain other than the one TriLink that broke on me in 12 years.

Holy cow!

Do You take a new loop and grind it down that far or do You utilize a worn work loop?

I've noticed that loops worn down to triangular teeth are scary fast.
The only issue is that they create a very narrow kerf.
How do You counteract that on a race chain?
I think they start filing robots down n *s-word

I prefer starting with a brand new chain. I'm not filing it all the way back, I'm taking the backside off to keep a taller tooth. If the kerf becomes an issue then the rivets get flattened and a narrow kerf bar is recommended.

Where do you guys get the 6 sided files for square chain and whats a good price? I would like to try.
Do saw dealers carry it?

Most shops keeping square ground chisel in stock will also stock one of the files. The 6 sided file works well, I prefer the double bevel flat file. Many folks have trouble with one or the other.
