Case splitting using heat

Probably the biggest pain in the butt seals I've ever installed was on a Poulan s-25 .Tiny little itty bitty things .I used a tiny little screw driver and walked around the seal lip as I tap tap tapped it in.

242 flywheel seals are also very difficult to work with, there is so little space to get a grip with that dismantle them is 90% of the work.
To mount a new seal I use the generator spacer to set the correct dept with.

This is 42/242/246 crank mounting service tool. I don't use this set often, I bought it because I know it will be NLA soon.


Long time ago I bought 254/257/262 crank mounting set, the nice with those sets is that it can be used on many Husky model, 254 set work brilliant on 357/359/545/550 etc since the crank has the same threads on them, 346 flywheel side also has M8x1 so I use the same set to crank together 346 also freezer&heat on PTO side.
M8x1 is flywheel side, M10Links are PTO side for 254/257/262/357/359/545/550.
All people need to make a distance sleeve and those two screws and you can crank together saw after saw without using more heat then mounting the bearing in the cage.
