I'm working on my old Lombard today. I decided to pull the muffler and Whoa Carbon Big time. The cylinder exhaust has 3 holes but I'm only seeing 2 so light poking and scraping I find the 3rd hole. I had a air blower the keep the junk from falling inside the crankcase. That's the worst I've seen. The piston has some scoring from the buildup, but for what action it's going to see it will be alright.

Years of 16:1 four stroker oil mix did that.
With modern synthetic at 32:1 should never need cleaning again.

Try some Sea Foam. If the rings seal good pour it in the spark plug hole with piston close to top dead center. Let the piston top soak a while. Then without moving the piston pour what is left over out. Then flush it with a little more Sea Foam. Swish it around them dump it. Add 1oz of Sea Foam to a gallon of the Mix you plan to run in that saw. It will white smoke on for the first little bit .During your first test cuts don't baby it. Run it wide open. If you are running a spark arrestor screen pull it before or clean it after. Sea Foam does work.
