My first Husky :D

I'll do vids next month. Need to get a good chain first.
Does JR still make chains for others?
I have just the saw for videos. Maybe two.

This thing done, yet?

Got the base and band cut this afternoon.
Ports ended up at 99/123/83.
Happy with that.
Lots of room for porting with the wide shirts. Might even fill the intake a few degrees to get some added case comp happening.
Parts turned up so not to get it ported and rebuilt when I get time

It's all coming together nice.
Cylinder is roughed in and will get tidied up tomorrow.
The muffler has been modded already but will take a bit more work to make it fit and seal on the cylinder when fitted to the saw after the almost .090" came off the base. Usually need to change the flange angle on the cylinder taking some off the top as the muffler tips in at the top when the cylinder is lowered a lot.

Timing, I reset my TDC and checked it once done and the exhaust is just a smidge under 100.
Will end up at 100/120/78.

This Sweet thread is getting sweeter by the picys-poasts

To top it off.....You know the vids are needed :) and big wood :D

Big wood is difficult here. I will be testing it tomorrow arvo but wont be in big timber unfortunately. Its all I have access to at the moment.
What I can offer is HARD wood, even harder than Rock haad maple :)

I got her all done and running today.
Had to slot the muffler mount screw holes and mess around with it to get it to mount up and seal to the cylinder and also mate up to the case mounting points.
Painted in header paint and baked at 200* C for an hour.

Meteor 288 piston, 088 wrist pin bearing, shortened light weight tapered 088 wrist pin, OEM husky 288 ring.
And then it all just fell back together.
Timing advanced a bit, pull starter stripped and rebuilt with some grease etc.
Will be testing with a 20" bar so will put an 8 on it for testing.

Here is its first start and run.
Set carb to 1 and 1 and off she went.
Its got good comp. I will check that after it gets some run time.

Timing ended up at 99.5/120/78.
Here in Australia we need saws built a bit different to hold good wide power band in hard timber and I don't think many who have not cut timber here can comprehend it.
I cant wait to get it dusty tomorrow.

Please don't have a *b-word about me not dressing up like an orange power ranger to safely test a saw in the garage.
Well you can if you want..... don't worry me haha.
