Just finished a short case poly flywheel with heated handles myself. Ran a half a tank & seems to have some bling / my favorite 066 so far

The new meteor 288 piston showed up today.
I weighed it compared to an OEM 288 piston and it was almost 10g heavier.
It had bulk excess metal up under the top which I removed as well as some smoothing and contouring work.
Matched with a shortened MS880 tapered wrist pin I got it down to 288 OEM weight which will make a good difference.

Nice Tony. That's a lot of work just for a Slug...
Should be a screamer though...[emoji106]
Was only a 1 beer job mate.
The weight saving will help it and with the price of OEM here it’s cheaper to mod a meteor.
You guys have it too good with your pricing in the states

I’m well Mike, you?

I'm doing pretty well Dave, thanks for asking. Just trying to resume my normal life with the Winter that will not end and the Tax Season that will not end.

I think it was 30s again last night, so I still can't plant the garden, and the longer folks wait to do their taxes the less organized they are and the longer it takes. Plus, I tell them all, after 4/15 I don't keep doing this 7 days a week!

It is so much easier to get it done with someone sitting across the desk, now everyone mails it in, you call and they are not there, then they call you back when you are working outside, etc, etc.

I always look forward to the GTG's, like "light at the end of the tunnel", but all the lights went out this year. I miss not seeing everyone, and sharing all the saws. I also worry that some of them may never resume. I fondly remember Bob's GTG's, and the one in Middletown. They were the two that were closest to me.

On the plus side I've been building some benches with my milled wood, and I'm planning my first trip of the year up to the cabin with Grandkids, my Brother and his Grandkids, and several other family members including MechanicMatt and his kids. S/B a good time!

$65+ for Meteor.
OEM, $300 to $450 depending on model.
A new 90cc top end kit will set you back $800 to $1200

Outrageous!!! Like the world is upside down (Ha, Ha, Ha). Someone down there will have to start manufacturing it!

Everyone gets mad at the Chinese, but I often wonder what OEM would cost if not for the Chinese!!!
