They make the rit dye in every color just about, so the white nylon tops could be made any color you want. If you had all the plastic made out of white a person could make the saw anything you wanted. Like the 372xp in wild thing colors that I think Scott did ect.

It depends on what type of plastic the covers are made of, some of the harder plastics won't take the dye. I tried to dye a maxflow filter cover black and after an hour simmering it just made it a slightly darker orange.

I actually tried watching that video with the sound off and closed captions on (didn't want to bother my wife) and after a minute of him scratching his face like a monkey and repeatedly saying "um" I couldn't take any more

I use vinegar, it helps set the dye. You just never know if it will take until you try it.
