I'm looking to rent a pole saw for a few hours so I phone the Hoe depot rental dept.

"Do you have pole saws for rent."
"What?"
You know, a pole with a little chainsaw on the end."

"I will go and look."

"Yes I have one but I have no blades."

"You mean you have no chains?"

"Yes."

So thinking maybe I have a chain.

"How long is the bar?"

"Fourteen feet."

"No, the bar that holds the chain."

"I think it is 10"

"Bye"

But, In the spirit of the thread . . .

I call them 'pole saws' too. I guess that STIHL, ECHO, etc., call them 'pole pruners' or 'powered pruners'.
Raises questions about manual pole saws, hydraulically powered pruners, loppers, etc.

I find these much more convenient, and accurate, for cutting poles.

Do they sell tube cutter stretchers? Asking for an arborist friend.

I did ask for a pole pruner as well. That didn't get me any closer either.

On the positive side, I did find one at another Home Depot that had a blade on it. You know, the thing with rivets and such in it.

Being a retired Pharmacist, this is what I always heard. Came up-north for vacation and guess what I forgot to bring, only need pills for a few days. I ask, what are you taking, answer, it's round and white. Where do you have them filled, Rite-Aid, do you have a phone number or address, no. :BangHead:

WTF is it with all these city people who refer to chains as blades? Where did that come from?

"I need a blade for my saw."

"Do you mean a bar or a chain?"

Some goof just came in and says he's picking up some blades he dropped off to have sharpened. So, I'm looking on the shelf with the sharpened mower blades, and can't find his name. What's it for, I ask, thinking he's gonna say Exmark, or Gravely or something. He says "Stihl" (naturally)

Some other clown was in and needs chains for his Jonsered. "It's not for my 2054; it's for my other saw. The model has a "6" in it." Wow, some of these people are really dense. No information and then they get pissed when you can't give them the part they want.

If you open your doors to the public...........they're gonna come in. :)

Reminds me of when my dad use to be the manager of a parts store. Guy comes in and says “I need 7” of X fuel line” my dad says “ok well I sell it by the foot”.
How much is a foot of it?
$2.75
Ok
Alright there’s your 7” of fuel line
Ok, how much is it?
$2.75!
What?!?
I told you I sell it by the foot. You wanted 7“ you got it.

Or a stone quarry guy would come in....
I put the radiator out of my skid steer in my f-150. I need a hose to go from (two hands in a circle) this big to (two hands in a circle closer together) this big.

Do you have any measurements?

Yeah I just showed ya with my hands
