I'll buy you one for machining my crank.
That sounds like some sort of bizarre personal ad.

I was mainly concerned with removing that much material from the 288 case.I originally thought of the same thing. I was going to skinny up the weights to be the same size as the 395 and even reduce some of the counterweight near the center of the throw to match the 395 weights. But the big rod end is only 0.010-0.020" less than the counterweight and the case part line is centered over it, so you still end up taking about the same amount off the gasket surface.
Really, it spools up plenty quick. The extra inertia probably helps keep the RPM more stable in the cut.

Nice work on this one Man.
This is one cool build - it's got me thinking again about my idea to put a 3120 crank in a Solo 603 chassis.
I have a few 285/298/2100/2101 cases sitting around with no cranks now... I wonder about a 3120 in those?
Can post a link if it is allowed.Mike Rupley built one that apparently turned out real nice...I think he just had to turn down the shoulder of the flywheel side of the crank. I got extra 2100 and 3120 cranks- I'll do some mock-ups this weekend.

Post it. Not a problem here. We do not have douche site owners. OPE Moderators are a different story though
I heard that.
What are you going to do about it?
Machining the weights and buffing the conrod is all that it needed to put the 3120 crank into a 2100 , even the key line up .
So yes you can also put a 3120 crank into a 288/395 .
