Thank you Joey.one of those would still be a push in a big saw cylinder.

It will work on the larger cylinders, you can shorten yout bits and get it in a 44mm. Very tight to work. I googled them and found one for 158 dollars. Which is about half of what the snap on cost 8 years ago.

I bought the 182AMC right angle tool from CC Specialties. It's a lot to shell out, but this is a quality piece of equipment. It can take quite a bit a of pressure if you need to hog out some transfers. The 266AMC has a 45degree angle on the head versus the 90 degree angle on the 182AMC. I think this might be better for bores smaller than 40mm.

All this talk about upper transfers brings to mind that those with or without finger ports are usually done just to improve the scavanging of the area above the intake port .Sweep the unburned products of combustion from the previous charge before the next arrives in other words .I use sweeps myself with a domed piston .Weather one method is better than the other remains to be a topic of lively conversation at times .I guess whatever you are comfortable with works .

Al, can I get to the transfers with a hoof rasp?
Dang I missed ole John when he came galloping through .Yes BTW he did port a saw with a bunch of files and sand paper and it did run pretty darn good .His biggest single expense was the amount of beer it took one winter.
