Splitting a lot of down and dead wood, some is filled with ants. Any of you guys have a sprayer handy when splitting? And what solution are you using.

Soap coats them so they can't breathe.
Lindane if it is still available works but it is long lasting and may not be good to have on wood used for firewood.

Fire is quick and has no bad side effects except setting the woodpile on fire but water takes care of that.

Burn barrel. In they go.

We use borax and sugar or honey in a paste with some water if needed. They feed on it. Kills them all at home from the inside out. Good for a week to long term... nothing toxic to mammals or fish. Cheap easy and effective like me

I’m splitting and stacking for next year, not burning when it’s 80 degrees out. Nor am I starting a burn barrel every time I split. Just want to spray em and kill em when I split open the infested rounds. I don’t want my wood pile infested with ants.
