If you don't mind semi slow, I've been using my Honda pioneer 500 SXS for logging, hunting and scouting going on 3 years now. Top speed is around 40 and the ride is kinda rough. It's more of a utility machine though, 5 speed paddle shifted gear to gear transmission and around 30 mpg with 50 inch width , I can fit down 99 percent of atv trails and carry 2 people comfortably. It's not for everyone though, my buddy that has a canam SXS road in my machine for 5 minutes and couldn't handle the "1 ton truck" ride quality lol.20211109_104625.jpg

We have one of the OHV meccas of the southeast just up the road and several people ride here at my WMA as well. We use a variety of machines at work like Rangers, Gator XUV, Honda Pioneers, and Can-Am defenders. We also have a few sport models for running the hard trails for compliance checks. Out of all the brands, Honda and Can Am hold up the best in the utility category and the Kawasaki KRX 1000 out performs the RZR non turbo we have in the trail/sport category. We had to do a lot less to the KRX than the Polaris machine to get it trail worthy for down here. If I was wanting a sport only, 2 seater I would get the KRX or the Can Am X3 turbo from what we see on the trails as far as breakage goes.

I have an 850 Sportsman, but would like a side by side. I probably will never get one since the prices on these things are insane. I always wanted to do a small build on a Suzuki Samurai, so that might be my "side by side". Yes, I can't trail ride with it even though I seen some built side by sides next to a samurai with a wider stance..
