I think I ordered mine right about the time the Corona Virus scare was ramping up and I got it fairly quickly

They have 3 grits as denoted by the color of the handle

Never been off shore fishing except for halibut and trolling for winter feeder salmon
I got all three grits when I ordered mine.

I intended to sharpen my 3/8" Stihl RD3 Carbide chain with those files, but even after clearing the gullets these 5.5mm files won't fit.
I intended to order smaller diameter diamond files but abandoned the thought of filing Carbide altogether.

Right now those file are just occupying space in my chainsaw toolbox awaiting a task they'd be handy for.

I think the lack of usable length would drive me bonkers if I was doing more than a few cutters

You build up muscle memory based on a standard round file and then get a Barbie Doll size file and it feels like WTF

At least I did

I bought a .325 16'' archer chain for that nice 261 I got from Shadco. He sent a lot of chain with it but I wanted to test some archer, I wasn't paying attention when I ordered and got a semi chisel.
I have 2 or 3 other archer chain and notice they all seem to fit the bar groove nicely.
I've got three tanks on this 16,'' limbing & cutting a bunch of red pine, after the usual initial break in stretch it has not loosened at all.
It is just begining to look like it may need to be sharped soon.
Seems like some pretty fair stuff.

Did 10 red pine stumps 10'' to 16'' yesterday with my 357xp, 18'' bar, 3/8 archer full chisel chain
Had a little time on the chain in some red oak, after 3 stumps of the pine I could see a shine on the cutting edge so out came the file.
After the sharp job it cut all 7 of the remaining stumps very quickly, I did tighten the chain once.
This was ground level cutting and I tried to stay out of the dirt but saw a spark once or twice.
Tho I have no long time experience with Archer chain, it seems a bargain at the price.

Finally had a dry day and some time, so took the little 020 with the 14" Archer B&C combo out and started cutting some of the smaller portion of a large Ash that was felled around xmas. 1 tank in the chain stopped stretching, and after 3 tanks I had to quit to go run some errands.

Chain was starting to dull a bit, but still cutting chips. Will touch up tonite and cut some more tomorrow.
The ash is pretty dry, the tree was dead for a year or so and does eat up oil but no issues at all so far.

I had another go at Archer chain and totally disliked it!

I needed a new loop for my Makita XS5000 and thought I'd try the one new Archer loop I have (I got it with a saw purchase).
I filed the loop to the angles of the Archer FastFiler jig, even set the rakers to it.

Paired up with my woods ported Makita XS5000 this Archer FastFiler filed Archer loop performed underwhelming and mediocre at best.

I have spent a full tank of fuel running this chain and the only thing that came to my mind was "I do not want this sub par loop anywhere close to my XS5000".

The Archer loop is back on the shelf waiting to be raped and killed on any kind of nasty future job.

My Makita XS5000 received a chain worthy of her, an Archer FastFiler filed brand new Oregon LGX (I think this is the last one I have).
This setup is a log dismantling beast and so much fun and joy to run.

DISCLAIMER:
Cutting performance is a matter of personal preference.
My observations and comments may not match those of others.
I am glad if Archer chains work for You, I simply can not get a liking for them.
Archer chains are much better than TriLink chains.

I just put a loop of Archer on my Mill. We will see how it goes.
I don't know . . .

Milling is torture for a saw.
My limited experience with Archer chains would make me grab a quality chain, LGX preferably.

I have two Stihl RS loops and they so far failed to impress me.

What I am trying to say is, expensive does not equal better.
Also, use what suits You best.

Good luck with Your Archer chain experience, I hope it works to Your satisfaction. :)

I'm just experimenting with it Wilhelm. I milled an oak log last week and cut a bolt inside. [emoji35]
Did a number on my Stihl RS chain.
I guess I'll just cut the cutter off and keep on cutting.

Dang!
I'd be worried that the whole stamped tooth plate took some damage when that raker got torn off.
Think strain tension and hair fracture.
If You have the means maybe You should consider replacing that tooth with a new one.
How long is that loop?

I know I keep praising Oregon LGX, but it deserves it
I once cut through a 7.9mm steel jacket & steel core bullet with an LGX, I even have a video of it on the Tube.
The chain was close to worn out and rakers were set very low (chain came with the saw), yet not a single tooth bent nor broke off.

Sorry about Your chain!

Let us know how You like the Archer chain.

84dl 24" 3/8 .050 Stihl RS.
Good point Wilhelm. I will check it over a little better to be sure. But I did cut another slab with the chain like that until I realized that something was wrong. LOL
Once I realized what I did I stopped.

Jeff, I have cutters and drive links for that. I’m happy to replace anything that may be broken for you.

I’ve been running Archer semi chisel full comp on my ported 590, 6421 and 7900 in some dirty wood. Initial stretch is more than Oregon but I’m very pleased with how it cuts and holds up. Price for a 100’ reel was also a plus, I have no complaints. And I agree with @Wilhelm, Tri Link is best used in a furnace to forge knives.
