Anyone ran the newest ms261cm for a few years now??

Well I was the “I want a saw I can tune myself, to hell with the mtronics lmao”…so anyway money talks and got a killer deal on the newest version of the 261 mtronic a few years ago….was Leary for awhile but I have to admit the saw is badass and it’s the first I grab…I got to many saws of all sizes but the 362 doesn’t get used as much these days because anything over a 20” bar I grab the 461 (prob my favorite saw!!)…

The 362 is great wearing the 20” but the 18” on the 261 in hardwood all the time is a screaming saw and even though I have tried, the mtronic saw has NEVER missed a beat and I love it, prob does 70% of my work…

I have one that's been to hell and back for around 4 years and I haven't even changed the solenoid, it won't quit.

Very nice, I’m sure I haven’t ran mine anywhere close to the hours you have so that’s good to hear!!

What bar size you running on it….i run a 18, had a 16 on it for a few months forgot I had the damn 18 lmao

Also it’s wild how that mtronic runs you can hear it throttle down differently, I tried to find a “problem” with it but I must say i absolutely love that saw and it’s the one I use the most now..

The gen 2 261s started around late 2015. I believe the version 3 mtron was 2018. If your info sticker is still on the tank/handle, it should have the mtron version #.

Man I can’t remember I looked all that up long ago but if I remember there are possible 3-versions of the mtronic or possibly cylinder design, but I’m sure someone knows for sure what each version change(s) were..

I have done it several times for mTronic saws I have worked on, especially if I change out pistons/cylinders. Easy process, it does what it needs to do and then is ready to go.
