Anyone Here Run Stihl Bars on Husky Saw With Cannon Adapter?

I do it all the time. It’s just an extra PITA though. The outboard clutch setup, although it helps dissipate heat, is about as non-ergonomic as anything can be. Add the adapter into the mix and it take a bunch of time to get it right.

My mill setup was a Stihl 36” ES on a ported 395 with adapter. It will work, but I finally broke down and bought the correct bar out of frustration.

Those are Tsumura Light bars made for Husqvarna so will probably be heavier than the Tsumura you already tried.

EDIT: I looked at the pic of the bar too quickly. The new Husqvarna X-Tough Light bars are made by Sugihara.

Got a 395XP and would like to run Stihl bars. Looking at these bar adapter from Cannon.

With the adapter, do you still have to mill the bar, and/or have to add extra link to the chain for it to work?

Would just like to throw out there if you haven't bought an adapter yet you can always make one real easily.

No help for the question, I do need to pay attention to this.
Was given a Stihl 20" bar that came from a husky 50.
Recently put it on Stihl 034.
When loose lots of up down movement.
Was concerned about the oil but after 1+ gal fuel
it seems fine. I tighten it like any other.

I’ve been doing it for years on 395s and 372s when they were my go to saws. I was mostly running Cannon bars that come in Stihl mount, but the ES bars I had for my 046 & 440 mouted right up except for my 28s. The Stihl mount takes 91 drivers, Husqvarna takes 93.

And the 28 is already the oddball with some being 91 and some being 93. But I believe it should work

Wtf, I thought echo was the only oddball for dl count. So husky and stihl 28's have different dl count?

Yes, for 28" and 36" it's different. 24 & 32 is the same. I tried playing around with different sprockets too, but it's just not worth the hassle of making 36 & 28 compatible with the same DL count if you use both brands.

Unless it’s a Cannon universal mount. So far my 28 Duralite works with Stihl, Husky, and Dolmar with a 91dl chain

How do you like the Duralite? You have any idea what it weighs compare to other light bar? I think it's $300+?

Love it. Definitely lighter than others. Seems like it was $240ish. I’ve used it a bunch in the last year and it still looks new

Definitive Dave has them on here. I used my 28 on walnut last winter and it hardly shows any wear. Probably wore 7-8 chains out on it.

Yup, I believe that will be the case.

My bad, those bars are made by Sugihara. The Sugihara light bars have always been heavier than the Tsumura ones. Not sure if Husqvarna gets a differently spec'ed bar from Sugi.

Hmm, maybe I'll check out the duralite. More $ but it's a pita having seperate chains as I have stihl, husky, dolmar, echo 70cc + saws.

I'm in the same boat 261, 462, cs-620, 7900, and now 395. Runs Stihl bars with all of them, except the 395.
