The wife bought me a new Homelite XL in 1979. was $80.
I have probably had 50(more or less) saws go thru my hands since.
I did get a 2071 with one tank thru it and a 7900 about the same.
Both new enough for me. Love to try different saws and see what all the hype is that you all post up!!
Am the same as jockeyduece,, dont even know what on the market, like to tinker used.

Never have, never will! I prefer metal to plastic so that's most new ones out!

Some say I'm old fashioned and stubborn...

The first saws I used were ones my dad had, however first brand new saw was a Stihl MS 290. I hated it from day one. If you didn't hear the very faint pop it would flood and then you might as well put it away until the next day. Being young I thought a new saw had to be better than dad's old pro saws. I ended up quickly selling the 290 and keeping the old pro saws.

About half of my saws I bought as used runners that needed rebuilt. The other half were non runner that needed rebuilt. Just bought my first new saw and got it last Friday! Oh and I also have a running Wild Thing!
