This is a comment I have not heard before. Would you please share the thought on this? I think it could be helpful in more intuitively understanding what blowdown strategies work best.

I know this is somewhat hidden in a 151T thread, but it is very interesting.

Well, it just seems like a nice thing to synchronize. The exhaust flow is well established, but not too far along. Probably isn’t that important but I liked it.

Maybe it could help with an even scavenging pattern?

A little bit of piston work goes a long way on these. Lightened up about 2grams and air windows raised 0.28mm.

Exhaust widened.

Intake widened and casting flash removed. Cold air dropped to 72. Mixed air at 70.
