Anybody dye plastic chainsaw parts?

Yeah I thought about that but was worried about the heat from the saw

It's pretty durable. My boss dipped the case covers on his track bike, a fully race prepped crf450 sumo. Even with his boot rubbing, it's held up excellent.

@John Wargo could maybe give you some pointers on how to get the pink paint to stick to your plastic

Proper scuffing with 600 grit and bulldog adhesion promoter worked great for the covers I airbrushed for @T-Roller. Also used a high build aerosol primer below my artwork.

That pink one should be on the new stihl calender... They really need some pink saws on the new calender...

Yeah that pink saw is my favorite saw LOL those pictures don't do it justice I'm just looking for something more durable than spray paint

Hydro dipped is still the best solution imo.

I wonder if you some how "bleached" the plastic or died it white before you went with the pink color, if that would help it pop a little better.

Not sure I do have a light light pink ima try on it i should have done that in the first place but o well. Lol

I agree that hydro dip would be a good option but they spray a base coat also. Like John said proper surface prep is the key along with some sort of adhesion promoter.

Has anyone tried Orange dye over Orange plastic to see if it would bring back the color?

Here's some i did.I found that you don't have to take off the aluminum badge.
They don't shine back up,i tried some armor all with little success.
I have some faded husky stuff to try.
The first set i did got a little to red,i just set a timer for an hour and it was to long.
I couldn't find orange dye,had to mix red and yellow.It doesn't take much red to the yellow.
