Husqvarna 55 closed port is 45mm windowed piston, open port is 46mm full circle piston.
Hyway now offers a 46mm closed port version to keep things interesting...
sounds like I got sucked in by clever wording, these are 46mm and no windows :(

55 open port is a VERY common saw often abused and mistreated inherently quite often in need of a slug.
How ever many you end up with you should be able to sell...
I've been through at least a half dozen in as many months...

Seems the sellers (I don't mean you, Dave) are confusing the term open and closed port with windows in the piston. I've seen it on meteor boxes. Like on a 268 piston. 268 was open port and 268xp was closed port. Meteor says either open or closed on the box. The closed piston is for the 268 open port. The open (windowed) piston is for a closed port 268xp. They might better call it windowed or non-wondowed.

hell I am stihl trying to figure out the difference between an open door and a closed door
yeah the vendors seem to latch on the latest hot buzz word and attach it to everything, Big Bore, Closed Port, D chamber, hybrid liquid cooled, polished transferred, OEM quality, smart as Dave....the list is endless

how is this for a broken brainwave - I like a nice saw but I don't want a mint one unless I am sure already that I don't want to use it, if it is too nice my hoarding OCD will just put it on the shelf and it will never see wood
still....cheaper and more fun than therapy :)

but I would oogle the hell out of some pics

dust, for shame.....for...........shame
I left the sawdust on for the pics ,when cut mdf in the shop it gets on everything ,also has the first set of Nate's dogs we worked back and fourth on making for this saw ,had 4 points done before pro safety had them done .it still looks pretty new under the dust ,has some grime from the last couple cedars i fell with it .Does that 026 to the right having a 10mm pin piston make it better ,lol dusty 461 ,.404 2-10-16 332.JPG dusty 461 ,.404 2-10-16 334.JPG dusty 461 ,.404 2-10-16 336.JPG dusty 461 ,.404 2-10-16 338.JPG
