Those 200 series Hoosky's are a lot of fun. Some day maybe a ChiCom version of that saw?? For me with all the "bones" laying around the shop, its cheaper just to scramble those eggs to build one vs. finding a AM option. And at this point either I start doing that or they might as well go to the scrap bin!
I prefer the 2 series they're not as high strung as the 3 series
Just solid reliable saws.

I've got a mike lee 288 to finish
It's all new bearings etc.
Just been to busy
I usually run 70cc anyway.
I broke a av spring on my 288. Thinking about going to all rubber mounts.

All said I should put some more time on the 372. I think I will get a new muffler for it, and no more 4 ports this time lol.

Yep I had a 32 on it, and the spring didn't like it lol.

Mine seem to work well with the screw tube port job. I think if I get a bigger carb and raise the exhaust port more I'll need to add another port to the muffler.

That's what I have on this muffler and 2 round outlets. It's really loud for what it is lol.

The bolt tube ports are super poppy sounding.

Did you grind the holes in the tubes on the half of the tube opposite of the exhaust port?

It is more work, you have to drill a hole from the side of the muffler, into the tube, and then looking down the tube, use a Dremel bit to widen the drill hole. Weld or braze the two outside drill holes in the body.

If you just go in through the exhaust port the exhaust wave goes straight into the tube.

I used a Christmas tree shaped long shank burr through the front of the muffler and did do it opposite of the port

Hmm, I put the holes in the tubes at around the first 1/4-1/3 of the tube measured from the back. I wonder if the extra length of the tube helps to attenuate the sound.

Mine is in like the middle, does make sense that the longer the would make it quieter. Mine is probably also poppy sounding from having mega huge compression.
