What's the story, where did you locate it? - OK, I got caught up with your recent post. It was just sitting quietly in your basement minding its own business. I'll bet it is going to start getting busy now.

There is probably a few sitting around in buckets in guys sheds and they have no clue what they've got.

the question is... now what? I don't have the tools for modding them... and I'd hate to mess up a couple carbs that are ... uh....rare

Poleman not only has the tools, but is an expert in modding those twin jets. Get on to him and give him the information he requests and he can mod it for that engine.

Anybody get a chance to pick up a copy of the 272? That is one saw I have a hankering for... to compare to the 372. Don't want to spend too much on one though, I know there are guys out there that consider them gold. (nothing wrong with that, it is, after all, one of the great saws Husky built)

If it is decided to order kits to build them, I'm in for one. Otherwise, if there is going to be a group buy for new ones, I would also be interested, if the price is good. PM me if such a deal goes through.

Thanks

Well, maybe we need to conspire a little. Get them shipped to a guy in Europe, and then ship them to the US. More expensive, but could be arranged? I'm sure we could find a guy that wants a medium size case of beer for moving a crate from one truck to another in a shipping hub.

Or is there a 266 or 268 that can be shipped directly to us? We can slap 272 52mm big bore top ends on those...

Lol.... it would be fun to compare the two and run them like you do to check longevity.
You always have good info and updates. One got a 268 piston but just haven't had time.....or at least for my stuff.

And i'm still on the first one three more as backup lol.
Firewood season is approaching i'm going to let my friends run the 268/372
I've talked to several guy's in other country's that have year's on the clones.
A few did have issue's but they worked them out.
Fuel lines most common.
The 365/372 clones seem to be the most popular and have been out the longest maybe the 268/272 idk.
They seem to have the bugs worked out some guy's have had a lot of problems with the 660 kits
I'm sure they will get there too.
I was able to compare mine against a 371 i built year's ago and the weight was very close.
Mine's got more balls lol20170805_134317.jpg

Those are all interesting facts!! I'm sure QC is different on each saw causing issues but for the most part the quality is good...or at least on my 365/372 kit. Bad coil but that's been it. And it runs as good or better than a OEM 365 special. I'm pretty impressed with them for the money!!!
Watching all the other Chinese builds is interesting also.... some of those saws really run good!!!!

20170804_152716.jpg Before these my recommend budget saw was the echo 590.
But 220.00 or so and a new fuel lines these have a lot to offer.
Power and cheap part's availability bars and chains over the echo and it's odd dl counts.

Guy's keep sending pms about the chinese wrist pin bearings.
I know they have failed for some but like i told them i have serviced many of the earthquakes and blue max saw's.
With some hard use and they are still together.
I do cut the g off the circlips
Can't find oem to fit some of these china pistons.
