I fired it up stock , but I really intend to run it modified.
It does run well and idle right out of the box. If the hyway cylinder doesn't have what it takes to improve the engine I'll just swap back to the original.
I'm guessing the Hyway won't rev up well. Low exhaust, can't remember if the intake was high or not, and I think the transfers were high and small. Heavy piston too.

The transfers do look a little small , but they'll get some grinding.
I thought about stroking it, but that may wait until I do other modifications(muffler and cylinder work)
I'm also teaching myself how to weld and trying not to blow holes in thin metal!

Hey fellas, I know there are multiple sources for buying these kit saws. My question is, have any of you ordered direct from Farmertech? I ask because they have the 660 kit for advertised $157 and change. I’m wondering if shipping kills the deal, both in terms of price and wait time?

I got a 395xp from them a few months back. Shipping is around $75 I believe? That put my total for the 395 at $325. It was around a month shipping time. One thing I like to do though is tack some small stuff on the order cause they do combine shipping. So often you can add several small things with minimal increase in shipping costs.

Thank you for sharing this. I just ordered a G372XP and it’s $155 to my door.
Blue or orange?

I think they made a mistake or in the process of changing prices
because the orange 372xp was 89.00 this morning
And notice the blue 288 is 209.00 now
It was 109.00 when i bought mine
And the orange was out of stock.

I went with the blue one. I was wondering if maybe they made a price mistake. Hopefully they honor the sale.

You guys got me wanting one of those g288 saws. I was looking on the website and thinking serious about buying one. Then reality set in. I'm in no physical condition to be using a 16+ pound saw. Then I saw the joncutter 3800 for $30 + $51 shipping. That's the size saw I can see myself using. So I was wondering if any of you have one and what you think about it.
