I bet a gas 3140 muffler saw is over 20 hp.

That would be fun if someone had more of a work/practice 3140.

Don't think anything that could cut firewood or drop a tree will break 20hp.

Read 3 10-12 second cuts with idle time between.

Would love to be proved wrong.

I knew that stroked 661 was impressive when I ran it at the CT GTG, and it was still M Tronic then.

I believe the stroked 661 is about 99 cc (or rounded, a 100 cc saw). Very impressive just the same, but referring to it as a 90 cc saw is like calling a 362 (59cc) a 50 cc saw.

Great job John! That saw's performance obviously reflects a lot more than just the increased stroke.

Works out to 98 vs 92,94cc for the rest of the "class"

But yes it is on the larger side. The next step up is 116-120cc+ so I consider 10cc class gaps doable.

This makes me want to load every powerhead I have up and drop them at Joe's door. Unfortunately we're back on 6-7 days a week already so it will have to wait. But if a pile of the ugliest orange saws with one pretty red one shows up you'll know that's me @Red97

That’s why it’s easier to refer to them in cubic inch classes. The stroker is still a 6 cube.

I'd love to see a series of runs on an autotune saw just after a reset to see what the tuning is doing to the power curve as it sorts it out.
Probably a waste of time as far as reality is concerned cos we just want the things to run the best they can.
Would still be interesting tho..

May be able to do something like that.

Have A fresh from the box 550 mk2 getting run tomorrow.

Maybe make a few extra pulls to see if it changes.
