The seal in the oil pump is voodoo to me too so you’re not alone my friend. I drove the seal flush when I rebuilt my 288, also don’t forget to put a new o-ring on the back of the oil pump housing, you’ll have an air leak without it. Your flywheel side seal definitely needs to be driven deeper. Question... How deep are these seals supposed to sit? My eyes aren’t good enough to see if it’s making good deal around crank on flywheel side. And for a Stihl guy, this whole “seal in the oiler” thing is voodoo...
