I'm sure that will solve the problem. I haven't had a bar on the saw yet just wanted to check everything over first. Guess it's a good thing I did...

You may have to trim the case I thought you were talking about in side the crank case sorry you may also have to trim the bracket on the elbow a bit.

Just caught up on this entire thread; I am inspired!

Picked up a 1997 288xp Lite last night. Runs and cuts/oils, going to be a overhaul and slight mod. Nothing crazy.

Thanks. It looks a bit rough but is complete. I don’t think its been used as much as it looks; most of it appears to be sun bleaching and just dirt.

Got the 288 my buddy gave to me last week rebuilt. Previous owner had gasket sealer on all the carb connections. Had a heck of a time getting the screws out. Need to get a few fuel lines...fuel and oil tank on this was completely disgusting!!
Cleaned up a bit...
